IPSO is the world’s largest trade fair for sporting goods and sportswear, and takes place once a year at Neue Messe, Münich, and Hi-Tec utilised the skills and the services of Equinox at the 2017 show.
With a rich heritage, Frank van Wezel formed the company in 1974, their footwear has been synonymous with marathon runners, Wimbledon tennis and some of the best footballers to ever grace the Premier League. their attendance at the 2017 show was all about standing out as one of the most outstanding brands in the outdoor sports and pursuits industry.
“Hi-Tec took a fairly large stand at this show” said Carl Criscione, Director for Equinox. “And our task was to showcase their latest outdoor footwear, promote the ‘Altitude’ range, and give them a cool and dominant presence to reflect their place in the outdoor adventure market.”
Clothing ranges for Outdoor Pursuits, Skiing, Boarding, Fitness, Sportswear, Football, Biking, Kids are all on display at IPSO; and when the brief landed on the design team’s desk at Equinox, they found out they had a 13m x 9.5m space to make Hi-Tec’s range look the best in the hall.
“The team knows that the urban look is the trend for outdoor sports displays at the moment” said Carl, “so this formed the basis for a lot of the stand content – concrete floors and timber effect walls; and other similar touches throughout.”
Meshwork formed part of the presentation wall look, and video screens created eye-catching movement. A small refreshment zone was factored in, which included a coffee bar and seating area.
The key message “Comfortable Anywhere” adorned the stand on a large sky-effect banner that gave the outdoor feel, and large high definition graphics of featured pieces of foot wear were prominent and caught attention.
“We made a nice feature using Michelin tyres attached to the wall to display a range of footwear that use Michelin rubber in their technical soles” Carl said. “As well as it keeping the urban feel, it looked good and intrigued people – which made them pay attention.”
For domination of the exhibition hall, a 2m high banner framed the perimeter of the stand, broadcasting the Hi-Tec logo to the rest of the hall.
“Hi-Tec are huge, and fittingly the stand stood out from the others in the hall” Carl told us. “It was tasteful, cool, and hammered home the right key messages to draw visitors in to inspect, enquire and buy their products.”
It was another great stand for another big brand that trusts and keep returning to Equinox.
